Privacy Policy
How Rockefarmer Labs Inc. handles information in connection with Tidan YiPath.
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Rockefarmer Labs Inc. (“Rockefarmer Labs,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, processes, discloses, retains, and protects information in connection with Tidan YiPath, including the Tidan YiPath mobile application, web application, related scoring services, and associated webpages (collectively, the “Service”).
Tidan YiPath is an informational tool designed to help users estimate scores under selected Ontario immigration expression-of-interest frameworks.
By using the Service, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
2. Information You Provide
Tidan YiPath asks users to provide information relevant to the selected scoring calculation. Depending on the pathway and options selected, this information may include:
- applicant or pathway type;
- job-offer information;
- NOC TEER category;
- NOC broad occupational category;
- wage-band information;
- duration in a current job-offer position;
- annual earnings band;
- Canadian immigration or work-status category;
- highest completed level of education;
- number of Canadian educational credentials;
- first official-language proficiency levels;
- optional second official-language proficiency levels; and
- Ontario work, practice, or study region.
The Service does not ask users to provide their:
- name;
- date of birth;
- email address;
- telephone number;
- residential address;
- Social Insurance Number;
- passport number;
- immigration document or permit number;
- financial-account information; or
- payment-card information.
Although the questionnaire does not request direct identity information, a combination of immigration, employment, education, and language information may still be personal or sensitive to a user. Users should therefore avoid entering information that is not requested by the Service.
3. How Questionnaire Information Is Used
Questionnaire information is used solely to:
- calculate an estimated score;
- apply the scoring rules relevant to the options selected by the user;
- display a score breakdown or comparison;
- provide the requested functionality; and
- diagnose a technical error when necessary, without intentionally recording complete questionnaire responses.
We do not use questionnaire information for:
- advertising;
- behavioural profiling;
- marketing;
- sale to third parties;
- credit or insurance decisions;
- employment decisions;
- unrelated research;
- training artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models; or
- identifying individual users.
4. Transmission and Ephemeral Processing
When a user requests a score, the questionnaire fields required for that calculation are transmitted to our scoring server.
Production versions of the Service are intended to transmit this information through an encrypted HTTPS connection.
The scoring server processes the submitted information to generate the requested result. Questionnaire responses are intended to be processed ephemerally and are not written by the application to a user database, user profile, or persistent questionnaire-history system.
The Service currently does not provide user accounts, login functionality, saved profiles, or cloud synchronization.
5. Local Storage
The current version of Tidan YiPath does not intentionally store completed questionnaire responses in persistent mobile-device or browser storage.
In particular, the Service does not currently use questionnaire information to create:
- a saved user account;
- a persistent application profile;
- a scoring-history database;
- an advertising profile; or
- a cross-device identifier.
Temporary information may remain in device memory while the application is open or while a scoring request is being completed. Operating systems, browsers, or network services may also maintain technical caches outside our direct control.
6. Automatically Processed Technical Information
When the Service communicates with our infrastructure, certain operational information may be processed automatically. This may include:
- Internet Protocol address;
- request date and time;
- browser or application user-agent information;
- requested endpoint or path;
- HTTP response status;
- general device or browser technical information; and
- limited diagnostic information relating to errors, availability, security, or performance.
This information may be processed through ordinary server, hosting, security, or access logs.
We do not intend to include complete questionnaire request bodies or complete scoring responses in routine operational logs.
7. Cookies, Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking
The Tidan YiPath Public Beta does not currently include:
- advertising SDKs;
- personalized advertising;
- third-party behavioural tracking;
- Google Analytics;
- Firebase Analytics;
- cross-app advertising identifiers; or
- third-party marketing profiles.
The Service may use technical mechanisms that are strictly necessary to deliver webpages, maintain security, prevent abuse, or operate network infrastructure. We will update this Privacy Policy before introducing materially different analytics, advertising, account, or tracking functions.
8. How We Disclose Information
We do not sell or rent questionnaire information.
Information may be processed or disclosed only in the following limited circumstances:
8.1 Service Providers
We may use service providers to operate the Service, including:
- website and cloud-infrastructure providers;
- production API hosting providers;
- network-security, content-delivery, and domain-services providers;
- Google Play and related application-distribution services; and
- technical providers needed to maintain security and availability.
These providers may process limited information on our behalf only as necessary to deliver their services.
The final production API hosting arrangement will be confirmed before public release. Where appropriate, this policy will be updated to identify material providers or jurisdictions involved.
8.2 Legal and Safety Requirements
We may disclose information where reasonably necessary to:
- comply with applicable law, regulation, court order, or lawful government request;
- investigate fraud, misuse, security incidents, or attacks;
- protect the rights, safety, property, and security of users, Rockefarmer Labs, or others; or
- establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
8.3 Business Transactions
If Rockefarmer Labs is involved in a merger, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction, relevant information may be disclosed as part of that transaction, subject to applicable legal and confidentiality requirements.
9. Data Retention
Questionnaire responses are intended to be retained only for the time reasonably necessary to complete the requested scoring transaction and are not intentionally stored in a persistent business database.
Routine operational logs may be retained for up to 30 days for purposes such as:
- maintaining reliability;
- detecting abuse;
- investigating security incidents;
- diagnosing errors; and
- protecting the Service.
Information may be retained for a longer period where reasonably necessary to investigate a security incident, comply with a legal obligation, resolve a dispute, or enforce our agreements.
When information is no longer required, we will take reasonable steps to delete it, anonymize it, or allow it to be overwritten according to our operational processes.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, loss, or destruction.
These safeguards may include:
- encrypted HTTPS transmission for production scoring requests;
- restricted access to systems and credentials;
- minimization of stored questionnaire information;
- separation of signing credentials and source code;
- security and access controls provided by infrastructure providers; and
- monitoring intended to detect misuse or technical failures.
No electronic transmission, network, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users provide information through the Service at their own risk.
11. International or Cross-Border Processing
Service providers may operate infrastructure in Canada or other jurisdictions.
Where information is processed outside a user’s province or country, it may be subject to the laws and lawful access requirements of the jurisdiction in which it is processed.
We will review and, where necessary, update this section when the production hosting arrangement is finalized.
12. Access, Correction, and Deletion Requests
Users may contact us to:
- ask questions about our privacy practices;
- request information about personal information we may hold;
- request correction of inaccurate personal information;
- raise a privacy concern; or
- request deletion where applicable.
Because Tidan YiPath does not create accounts or intentionally retain questionnaire responses in an identifiable user database, we may not have a persistent record that can be located, linked to a particular user, corrected, or deleted.
Requests relating to operational logs may require sufficient information to identify the relevant record. We may be unable to locate a record, and we may request reasonable verification before responding.
We will respond to valid privacy requests in accordance with applicable law.
13. Children
Tidan YiPath is intended for adults researching Ontario immigration pathways. It is not directed to children.
We do not knowingly request personal information from children through the Service. A parent or guardian who believes that a child has provided personal information may contact us.
14. Third-Party Links and Official Sources
The Service may provide links or references to government or third-party websites. Those websites operate independently and are governed by their own privacy policies and terms.
Rockefarmer Labs is not responsible for the privacy, security, accuracy, or availability of third-party services.
15. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect:
- changes to the Service;
- changes in our infrastructure;
- new legal or regulatory requirements;
- new service providers; or
- changes in our data-handling practices.
The revised policy will display an updated “Last Updated” date. Where a change is material, we may also provide notice through the Service or another reasonable method.
We will update this Privacy Policy and related Google Play disclosures before introducing materially different collection, storage, advertising, analytics, or account functionality.
